The Waterloo and Cedar Falls Community Schools have embarked on a partnership to offer diverse educational opportunities to our students that otherwise wouldn't be possible. With the addition of our CAPS program options for our students we will be offering the opportunity for students to immerse themselves in to 9 different programs and over 50 additional courses at the Waterloo Career Center (WCC).
The Waterloo Career Center (WCC) located at Central Middle School will specialize in Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways in the following areas: nursing, digital graphics, information technology networking, advanced manufacturing, and early childhood education. In Fall 2018, marketing, digital interactive media, sustained construction, and mobile/web applications will be available. Students can travel to the Career Center for a portion of the day to take advantage of these courses. To round out our Career Center, we are planning to add 6 more programs by Fall 2020, bringing the total to 15. Watch for more exciting announcements in the future!
Students enrolled in the Waterloo Career Center program will take their semester class at a Waterloo Schools location with a Waterloo Instructor.
Students may need to meet pre-requisites of completing certain courses at CFHS depending on the program of study through WCC. Although students will not be able to register for this course on their Career Cruising, any student who has interest will need to speak to their School Counselor for registration information.
